Singer/Songwriter, Ryann Eve, grew up with poetry. Excerpts from Emily Dickenson stuffed in her pockets and tales of Robert Frost bouncing around in her fourth-grade backpack. Rooted in Motown and jazz, with a penchant for the piano, she dreamt of stepping out of her bedroom and onto a stage. Through her father, a screenwriter, she saw first hand how cutthroat the entertainment industry could be. This, accompanied by an innate drive to create, formed her first inkling of doubt. She was trapped in a war between being an idealist and a realist. A pessimistic optimist.
Her lyrics aren’t meant to coddle you; they’re blunt, sarcastic, and bittersweet. Reminiscent of the same overdramatized poetry she grew up reading. Drenched in bluesy undertones and guttural soul, eve makes for a haunting contralto. Her songs are a blend of traditional jazz and modern alternative, each fitted with smart-mouthed lyrics and a sour self-awareness. often, she ends up being the butt of her own joke.

At 15, Eve released her debut EP, “2k5” in May, 2020. At 13, Eve won Best Original Song at a charity benefit for Girl’s Rock Santa Barbra. And, unlike the doubtful girl of her past, she’s feeling pretty optimistic
