We need not 1, not 2, but 5 FEMALE AND GENDER-EXPANSIVE STAFF to help us run our next 15-week SYRYN RECORDS cohort. SYRYN RECORDS is Amplify Arts Project’s totally youth-run record label and internship program for girls and gender-expansive youth ages ~14–25.
In case you haven’t heard, women and gender-expansive people are grossly underrepresented in the music industry. Even when we’re lucky enough to be included in the industry as artists and beyond, we’re often mistreated or ignored. Syryn Records is on a mission to change that by letting youth artists and interns call the shots and create original projects in their very own nonprofit label, while also learning from experts along the way. Syryn cohorts run for 15 weeks at a time and currently feature 4 unique departments (Recording Artist, Marketing, Creative, A&R) and a live final showcase!

DEPARTMENT LEAD (RECORDING ARTIST, MARKETING, CREATIVE, OR A&R)
Syryn Records’ department leads are key program staff whose primary role is getting youth interns and/or artists ready for a successful final showcase and “finale”/capstone project: a pro-level, fully mastered compilation album of youth artists’ original work! On this journey, you’re also teaching youth about their chosen department/role in the music industry: Recording Artist, Marketing (including PR + socials), Creative, or A&R. This comes in the form of sharing cool industry background (e.g., women who pioneered modern music production), helping youth through their projects (we love teamwork and empathetic co-creation), securing guest mentors, and generally cheering youth on every step of the way, especially the final showcase/compilation release. Syryn Records department leads are supervised by the program manager and executive director, and they’re also supported as needed by the director of marketing + development and administrative associate.
