By Crystal Rocha, Ashlynn Ford, Ava Crozier, and Jazmin Alvarez Syryn Records 2024 compilation album is on its way! With our compilation album release date and show set for May 17, 2024, there’s so much to highlight. Full of new and emerging talent, this cohorts album is sure to provide an amazing listening experience, with music as unique and engaging as our artists themselves. To better understand our artists and the vision for each of their tracks let us give you all the deets on who they are, where they come from, and what drives their music muse life force: We’re getting this party started off with nixxi, a queer, nonbinary indie pop artist raised in southern Maine and now residing in Los Angeles, California.Nixxi aims to foster unity among people who have felt isolated. Their goal is to use their music to create a profound sense of belonging. Next up is Pretty Roach, a 22-year-old with a laptop, ukulele, and a dream. With inspiration from Pure Hell, Lemon Demon, and Baebadoobee, their goal is to defy norms while working with black queer punks that “your mom told you to worry about.” Now we have Katy Caballero. Originating from Santa Barbara, California, 19-year-old Katy Caballero takes inspiration from Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood in order to masterfully blend folk and country. Even while pursuing a degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, Katy has racked up credits, including opening for Elle King and Barns Courtney and also winning Teen Star 2020 at the Arlington Theater. Katy is hoping to break the silence for today’s youth and bring heartfelt music that makes the listener feel it, not just listen to it. Are you excited yet? Our artists are sure to bring the heat! Now let's take it back to the mid-2000s, Brianna Lia from Brooklyn, New York revamps female pop-rock with her young energy and brilliant melodies. Her work focuses on themes of adolescence, and covers topics felt by youth worldwide, including self-discovery, heartbreak, and empowerment. Brianna connects with her audience through her music and ultimate goal is to form meaningful friendships with her fans. It really gets no better than that. Yasi Reh is a singer-songwriter from DC who blends the smooth blues-like notes from influences like Norah Jones with the grittier, soulful elements of artists like Hozier. Yasi’s goal for future music is to highlight the core of artistic expression while also incorporating sapphic references, themes of mental health, loneliness, and cultural nods. Yasi ultimately just wants to make sure you never have to endure a bathroom floor cry session alone. And have you heard of Lauryn Perkins? She’s a true gem. This singer-songwriter was raised in Miami, Florida blending neo-soul, jazz, hip hop, and EDM influences. Her music provides an upbeat yet soulful unforgettable experience. Her message is to inspire everyone to follow their happiness through self-acceptance. Armón, a non-binary artist who found their start in the confines of their local church in New Orleans takes inspiration from iconic black artists such as Prince, Whitney Houston, and Micheal Jackson. They bring an electrifying presence to their music with sounds of synthpop, funk, and R&B. With energy unlike no other, you’re going to feel the music and love the artist! China Doll is a 22-year-old alternative R&B/neo-soul artist hailing from Chicago's southside. With influences ranging from spoken word to activism, her soulful music captures the essence of Chicago, aiming to inspire and heal through her distinct voice and perspective. We’re finishing off our list with 23-year-old Shaprea. Shaprea is an artist from Los Angeles, CA. Her music spans various genres and reflects personal experiences and hidden emotions in every lyric and spoken word. Despite facing challenges like heartbreak and anxiety, Shaprea inspires with a message of resilience and self-worth, urging listeners to embrace their uniqueness as she continues her musical journey.
